Criteria and Nominations
The African Genius Awards invite nominations of individuals who possess unique, rare attributes, characteristics and skills who have used them to address challenges or exploit opportunities to impact African societies in ways that are uplifting, transformative, build the esteem of Africans and inspire them to make significant contributions to the continent and its countries’ development in specific ways, sectors and in general.
How Many Nominations?
Only one nomination is allowed.
The number of nominations has no bearing on the judging
How can one become a nominee?
The talent, attributes, skill(s) and their rarity of the nominee need to be specified, identifiable and substantiated.
How relatable should a nominee be?
The relevance of the skill(s) of the nominee in relation to the needs of Africa and the specific issues, challenges, opportunities or problems they address should be clearly stated.
How do we identify a nominee?
Evidence of unique application of the skill or unique talent to resolve, address unique African challenges is required.
What makes the nominee?
Professional or official recognition, awards and endorsements received, or justification of exclusion (from recognition) for marginalised and disadvantaged groups.
